Four Blessings and Four Woes

And raising his eyes toward his disciples, Jesus said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for the kingdom of God is yours. Blessed are you who are now hungry, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who are now weeping, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude and insult you, and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man. Rejoice and leap for joy on that day! Behold, your reward will be great in heaven. For their ancestors treated the prophets in the same way. But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. But woe to you who are filled now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will grieve and weep. Woe to you when all speak well of you, for their ancestors treated the false prophets in this way.”

Step by Step on the Road to Santiago de Compostela

On February 24 at 12:30 pm, Mr. Zheng Li will share his experience on a 5-day pilgrimage with his children to Santiago de Compostela in 2017.

There are many different ways of pilgrimage, and the journey of a holy pilgrimage, step by step, is a great way to experience the missionary journey of Jesus with the apostles.

The pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela runs along the Pyrenees mountains and ends at one of the Catholic holy sites. The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is in the city of Santiago in Northern Spain. This pilgrimage route, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, began on July 25, 814 where pilgrims found the remains of St. James the Apostle in the city of Santiago. Since then the city and the church became one of the most famous pilgrimage sites in Europe.

The Pastoral Council had a meeting on guidelines regarding clean-up after lunch fellowship after Sunday Mass: in principle, the group preparing meals for the day is responsible to find church members to help with clean-up, If it is a pot-luck lunch, then the appeal for volunteers to clean-up will be made during the announcements.
