Feast Day of the Holy Martyrs of China
Prayers of the Faithful
Celebrant: Brothers and sisters, there is a saying, “The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.” Throughout the history of the Church, countless unbelievers have been converted to the faith by the testimony of the martyrs. In faith, let us offer these prayers to the Lord:
L. We pray for our parishioners, that the witness of the Chinese martyrs will inspire us to deepen our faith, strengthen our hope, to love and serve God, our neighbors and even our enemies. We pray to the Lord.
L: We pray for our mission of evangelization, may we do our part in bringing new members to the Church and helping the Body of Christ grow in faith and charity. We pray to the Lord.
L. We pray for persecuted Christians around the world. May the Holy Spirit grant them courage and strength to persevere in the faith. We pray to the Lord.
L: This Mass is offered for the parishioners of our parish. We pray to the Lord.
L: We pray for those whose names are in our Prayer Box, especially Jasmine Ho, Michael Tan, Bian Meiyi, Chen Shupeng, Chen Jianxin, Liang Chenjing and Xu Taicheng. We pray to the Lord.
L: We pray for the souls in Purgatory, may our prayers aid them in their purification, that they may sooner enter into the joys of heaven. We pray to the Lord.
L: We pray for your personal intentions. May the Lord hear the prayers in our hearts and bring us closer to Him. We pray to the Lord.
Celebrant: Lord our God, may our prayers, through the intercession of the Holy Martyr Saints of China, ignite the hearts of Chinese Christians all over the world to unite in prayer, and in promoting peace and the truth of the Gospel. We ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN.
